Education

Academic Qualification: Ph.D ( Organic Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry).
At least 15 - 20 years of professional experience as a product developer in the Polymer Industry.
Personal working style: structured and systematic way of working, ability to analyze, initiative & independence, diligence, ability to make decisions, creativity, flexibility
Communication/cooperation: ability to work in a team, ability to communicate in an international environment
Excellent communication/presentation and reporting skills in English.

Task

The R&D General Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire development process of new product development, process development, Laboratory Safety management, Improvement in cost efficiency, technology transfer, people development. Develop and maintain a pipeline of new product ideas to meet the global product management plans.

The job holder will report to Director – Technology (Chemicals)

 

With a special focus on the segment: Resins/Additives for Coatings/Printing Inks/Adhesive.

Lead, Guide and Supervise the team of Chemists for the development of new products and improvement in existing product and process.
Regular assessment of new products and processes that meet current and future needs of the relevant industries.
Responsible for defining R&D activities aligned with the latest technology and innovation roadmap.
Responsible for setting standards for quality.
Address gaps in performance of current products and future needs of the business.
Planning, Designing and conducting projects within the time frame using methodologies and techniques appropriate to the type of research.
Carry out improvement in the existing products based on literature search, Market trends and Technical understanding.
Coordinating the entire product development including the feasibility of resource analysis, finalizing specifications, designing testing activities.
Standardization of products at pilot plant for production & future scale up to commercial scale.
Develop, provide training and educate R&D team.
Identify new applications and opportunities for existing and new products.
Responsible for Lab Safety procedure and efficient working conditions as per the Industries standards.
